  • Progressives notch another win over Democratic moderates as Sanders-AOC ally nears Congress
    Trust is earned, not demanded.

A progressive organizer backed by left-wing champions Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one step away from winning a seat in Congress.
Analilia Mejia, who has made rebuilding the Democratic Party a central pillar of her campaign, is the front-runner in an April special congressional election for a blue-leaning district in New Jersey after pulling off a major upset in last week's Democratic primary.
The ballot box showdown, where Mejia narrowly edged out front-runner former Rep. Tom Malinowski, was the latest face-off between progressives and more mainstream Democrats. Mejia ultimately beat 10 other Democrats for the chance to fill the seat left vacant after now-Gov. Mikie Sherrill, who stepped down after winning last November's gubernatorial election.
While Mejia was the clear choice of the left flank of the party's base, the rest of the field appeared to divide the more moderate and center-left vote. And Malinowski was battered by a slew of attack ads put out by a group affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which opposed Malinowski because he said he supports conditions on aid to Israel.
‘ABOLISH ICE’—WHERE SANDERS AND AOC-BACKED MEJIA STANDS ON THE ISSUES
Trailing by nearly 900 votes five days after the primary, Malinowski conceded on Tuesday.
Regardless of how she won, Mejia is getting showered with praise from national progressive leaders.
"She stands for a progressive populist economic agenda," Rep. Ro Khanna of California, who also backed Mejia, emphasized Friday in a social media post. "She is the future!"
And the victory by Mejia, who worked as national political director on Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign, is the latest boost for the left against the establishment since socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani sent shock waves across the nation with his Democratic primary victory in June 2025.
'FULL-BLOWN BATTLE' BREWING IN DEM PARTY AS MAMDANI-STYLE CANDIDATES RISE IN KEY RACES
Mamdani's primary win, followed by his double-digit general election triumph, was far from a one-off for the left last year.
Transit advocate and progressive organizer Katie Wilson narrowly edged out incumbent Mayor Bruce Harrell in Seattle's mayoral election.
Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield, who is known for her focus on housing justice, won the showdown for Detroit mayor in a landslide, succeeding longtime Mayor Mike Duggan.

I grew up in Chicago believing the book on interracial marriage my father, a white anthropologist, worked on throughout my childhood sprang from his love for my Black Jamaican mother. But when I finally opened the boxes of papers I had inherited, I discovered he had begun interviewing Black-white couples as a 21-year-old graduate student in the 1930s, long before he met her. In notes from his bachelor-era interviews in the 1950s, he described a wild party for mixed-race couples only. Reading these papers left me uneasy about desire that’s racialized—when race itself becomes the attraction.

I can picture clearly the first time I was unsettled by this type of attraction. The moment plays back like a haunting scene from a movie.

It is the month before my eighth-grade graduation from my integrated school in Kenwood, as the chilly Chicago spring slowly warms into summer. I am barely thirteen years old. During recess or when school lets out, I notice two white girls in my grade leaning casually against the school wall as Black boys bend toward each one, playfully chatting.

The girls pose with an unaccustomed demeanor as they look up at the boys, seeming to hold their attention effortlessly. They are dressed in miniskirts that had become shorter than the year before, knee-high socks, and fitted blouses. I can tell they fancy themselves more mature than our classmates for talking with the boys in this manner. In hindsight, I suspect that the boys were students at the high school, who crossed the park separating our schools for a chance to share this momentary exchange.

That was my first awareness of the dynamic of white girls and Black boys expressing a distinctive attraction toward each other. The sight of those boys and girls interacting was unlike anything I had seen or experienced before. It felt unfamiliar, a sharp contrast to the behavior I was used to from my classmates.

In my little autograph book, with a blue cover and multicolored pages, where my classmates wrote playful farewells as we departed for …

  • Democrats’ Demographic Doom Spiral Has No Exit
    This isn't complicated—it's willpower.

President Donald Trump isn’t just deporting illegal immigrants. He’s deporting the people Democrats need to offset their demographic challenges.

The Census Bureau recently released updated population figures through June 2025. The country grew slightly, but that growth wasn’t equally distributed. Many red states, like South Carolina, Idaho, and Texas, grew significantly. In just one year, each of those states saw their population increase by more than 1%.

Blue states aren’t keeping up. California, Illinois, and New York now have fewer people than in 2020. In contrast, Florida’s population is up around 9%.

There’s an obvious and important takeaway here. Blue states implemented leftist ideas. They have high taxes and regulations that strangle construction. They have failing schools that teach students to hate America. They force female athletes to compete against boys.

The results have been so intolerable that millions of people have moved out. It’s yet another example of people fleeing socialism.

There’s a less obvious but just as important takeaway. After the decennial census, states gain or lose congressional seats based on population. Those adjustments change the Electoral College. States receive electoral votes based on how many House and Senate members they have.

The forecast from the American Redistricting Project shows Democrats losing nine seats in reliable blue states. Two swing states, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, would each lose a seat. Those 11 seats would go to states that Trump won in 2024. A different projection from Jonathan Cervas at Carnegie Mellon University has solid red and lean red states gaining 13 seats.

If these projections hold, the Republican presidential candidate in 2032 could lose Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada and win the presidency. The Democrat candidate would have to win those swing states and either Arizona or Georgia.

Liberals could help mitigate this by having more babies. Blue states can’t make adults stay, but newborns don’t have a choice. That’s unlikely to happen. The Institute for Family Studies found that in 2023, the 10 states with the highest fertility rates were deep red states. The 10 states with the lowest fertility rates were deep blue states. Further, conservative women have more kids.

This trend is unlikely to reverse. Just 25% of women who voted for Kamala Harris said they wanted children, a recent New York Times poll found. Among Trump voters, it was 43%. Both numbers skew low because the response group includes adults 45 and older.

You can see the Left’s dilemma. People are fleeing the misery caused by its terrible policies, while its adherents reproduce at low levels.

Democrats could try better governance. Building more homes, affordable energy, and safe streets don’t have to be Republican positions.

Instead, the Left is relying on immigrants, both legal and illegal, to prop up their population numbers. The decennial census currently counts illegal immigrants within a state’s borders. No, that doesn’t make sense.

It may not continue. Missouri recently filed a lawsuit to stop this. Its legal brief contends that “Missouri and other States will be collectively …

  • White House stands by Howard Lutnick as Epstein files fallout grows
    What's the administration thinking here?

President Donald Trump’s administration is defending Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick against bipartisan calls for the Cabinet secretary to resign due to his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The latest trove of Epstein files released by the Justice Department showed that Lutnick planned to visit Epstein’s island in the U.S. Virgin Islands in December 2012 after claiming that he and his wife cut ties with the disgraced financier in 2005. Uncovered emails show that Lutnick kept in touch with Epstein after his 2008 conviction in Florida.

Both men signed a document on behalf of limited liability companies to acquire stakes in the advertising technology company Adfin, which would later shutter, in December 2012.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked whether there has been any shift in how the White House is viewing the secretary, who testified on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

“No,” Leavitt said during Tuesday’s press briefing. “Secretary Lutnick remains a very important member of President Trump’s team, and the president fully supports the secretary.”

Lutnick defended himself during a Tuesday morning testimony to the Senate committee on appropriations.

“To the best of my memory, I met him when he moved next door to me, and I met him two other times in 14 years, none within six years of that first meeting,” Lutnick told Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE). “And then a year and a half later, and none thereafter, and in the presence of my wife. And as [Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)] said, under no circumstances is there a single word that I’ve done anything remotely wrong in any possible regard.”

“I did not have … anything you could call a relationship, anything you call an acquaintance,” he continued. “I literally met him three times over 14 years with wide spread in between. That’s all I can remember. That’s all there is in the documents.”

Lutnick also told Van Hollen that he and his family indeed had lunch on Epstein’s island in the U.S. Virgin Islands while on vacation. “My wife was with me, as were my four children and nannies. I had another couple,” he said. “They were there as well with their children, and we had lunch on the island.”

Leavitt defended Trump’s insistence that he cut ties with Epstein after a 2019 FBI report revealed Trump allegedly called a Palm Beach, Florida, police chief in 2006 to express gratitude for “stopping” Epstein.

“What I will say is that the president has always remained consistent, and that he kicked …

  • House hearing raises red flags over former tech mogul's ‘CCP network’ allegedly funding of far-left groups
    What's the endgame here?

During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Tuesday, former U.S. tech mogul Neville Roy Singham was regularly named in the discussion and debate as to how foreign adversaries help fund U.S. agitator groups through what one witness described as "foreign dark money."
Singham, a U.S. citizen who sold his IT consulting company for $785 million before moving to Shanghai, was accused by multiple members of Congress as the man behind the "Singham [Chinese Communist Party] network," a phrase coined by committee chairman Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., during his opening remarks at the hearing.
"It's no wonder that the People's Forum echoes Communist Party propaganda," Smith said. "One of their largest donors is a wealthy former US tech executive living in Shanghai who is cozy, extremely cozy with the Chinese Communist Party."
"Neville Roy Singham and his wife, a co-founder of CodePink, donated over $20 million to the People's Forum through shell companies and donor advised funds to hide the original source of the money," Smith explained.
CCP-CONNECTED MILLIONAIRE ALLEGEDLY BANKROLLS MINNEAPOLIS AGITATOR GROUPS THROUGH DARK MONEY NETWORK
"This committee has worked tirelessly to unravel, to unravel, the Singam CCP network," Smith added.
Last April, Smith sent a letter with GOP committee members to then-IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel requesting information about "specific tax-exempt organizations that promote CCP propaganda and related initiatives," including the People’s Forum.
The People’s Forum has been one of the loudest voices encouraging and facilitating agitators to take to the streets for anti-ICE demonstrations, and Fox News Digital also learned that Smith also sent letters to BreakThrough BT Media Inc., and Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research ahead of Tuesday’s hearing requesting information surrounding alleged ties to Singham.
FAR-LEFT NONPROFITS IN THE HOT SEAT AS LAWMAKER EXPOSES THEM FOR 'SOWING CHAOS' IN US
The groups also have reported ties to the pro-Nicolás Maduro demonstrations, which took place following the Trump administration’s arrest of the Venezuelan dictator last month.
Singham, who shares office space in Shanghai with Maku Group, a Chinese media company associated with pro-CCP propaganda, which Singham himself has helped fund, was the center of an often-referenced New York Times expose published in 2023.

  • Swing-state Dem in crucial Senate race facing heat for weekslong silence on heinous illegal immigrant crime
    This affects the entire country.

Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff, a vocal critic of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) who is running for re-election in November, is facing heat from Georgia Republicans over his lack of public comment until today on news that ICE lodged a detainer for a Georgia illegal immigrant accused of a heinous crime.
On Jan. 27, the Department of Homeland Security announced it placed a detainer on Mexican national Kenneth Moreno Guzman after he allegedly broke into the back door of a Georgia family’s home earlier that month and raped an 11-year-old girl while threatening her 10-year-old sister in the room with a knife.
"Another horrific tragedy for two innocent children by the hands of a criminal illegal alien. This monster should have never been in our country in the first place," DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a press release at the time.
"These are the victims President Trump and Secretary Noem are fighting for and the media and sanctuary politicians ignore. We have lodged an arrest detainer to ensure ICE is notified to arrest this creep before he can prey on more innocent children."
THIS SENATE DEMOCRAT WANTS VOTER ID FOR HIS CAMPAIGN EVENTS — BUT NOT FEDERAL ELECTIONS
A Fox News Digital search did not find any public comment from Ossoff acknowledging the crime or the importance of ICE’s involvement as of Monday.
When reached for comment Tuesday, Ossoff told Fox News Digital, "Instead of raiding Americans’ homes without judicial warrants, demanding Americans’ papers at checkpoints and detaining 5-year olds, Americans want ICE to return to its purpose: arresting violent criminals like Kenneth Moreno Guzman who are here illegally, and I commend the law enforcement professionals involved in this criminal’s arrest."
REPUBLICAN MAJORITY AT RISK? A LOOK AT THE 6 GOP SENATE SEATS MOST IN JEOPARDY IN MIDTERM ELECTIONS
Over the past few weeks, Ossoff has made several public statements critical of ICE and invoked the names of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were both killed during interactions with federal immigration agents in Minnesota. Several Republicans running for office in Georgia, including his Senate opponents, took issue with Ossoff’s weekslong silence on Guzman's crime.
"It’s been utter silence from Jon Ossoff about the illegal alien who raped an 11-year-old girl and held her 10-year-old sister at knifepoint in Ossoff’s own backyard — just like his silence when Joe Biden opened the southern border four years ago," former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley, running for Senate in a Republican primary to challenge Ossoff, told Fox News …

  • Dem rep labels federal immigration agents 'thugs' in tense hearing
    Who's accountable for the results?

Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-Mich., unleashed a blistering attack on federal agents Tuesday, calling U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers "thugs" and accusing them of criminal conduct during a heated House hearing.
The Democrat's comments came during a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) oversight.
"I have heard and seen enough. I'm just sick and tired of your agents running around in our cities, in our streets, causing illegal activities," Thanedar told ICE acting Director Todd Lyons.
"ICE and CBP thugs are roaming our streets, attacking our communities, using our children as bait, referring to people as bodies and numbers, targeting people for their accents and the color of their skin, and killing American citizens — all while showing zero remorse for their actions," he continued.
GOP LAWMAKER RENEWS OVERSIGHT HEARING REQUEST OF DHS AGENCIES FOLLOWING FATAL SHOOTING IN MINNEAPOLIS
Lyons said ICE has made nearly 379,000 arrests, including 7,000 suspected gang members and 1,400 suspected terrorists.
Amid the enforcement, federal agents have faced a more than 8,000% increase in death threats.
Thanedar, who pushed legislation in January to abolish ICE, dug into Lyons and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, accusing them of criminal behavior that could warrant a presidential pardon.
"Director Lyons and Commissioner Scott, do you think President Trump will pardon you and your boss, Kristi Noem, before he leaves office — just like he has for insurrectionists and his political allies?" he said. "Do you believe President Trump will pardon you?"
Scott fired back, saying he was proud of his service.
ICE REJECTS ‘FALSE NARRATIVE’ ABOUT FAMILY SEPARATION, ASSERTS MINNESOTA CHURCH RIOTERS WERE NOT PEACEFUL
"I'm not going to speak on behalf of President Trump, but I'll tell you, I signed up for this job to protect America," he said. "I'm very proud of the service that I provide, and I don't need a pardon from anybody."
Fellow Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., also asked Lyons if he would resign during the hearing, citing his career in military service.
"I've read your background, you have a dedicated career. You served in the military… This is not the only job you can get," Swalwell said. "But since you've been on this job, women have been dragged by their hair through our streets. A 6-year-old child battling stage four cancer has been deported, and it turns out he was a U.S. citizen. People are running through the fields where they work. People who've gone to the streets as allies …

  • FBI reviewing Fulton County vote-count ‘deficiencies,’ court docs reveal
    Why resist verification?

The FBI is investigating Fulton County’s handling of the 2020 election, according to newly filed search warrant affidavits outlining alleged ballot irregularities and record-keeping failures.
The FBI special agent who wrote the affidavits, which were filed Tuesday in federal court by the Department of Justice, described a wide-ranging probe into missing ballot images, inconsistent recount totals and chain-of-custody problems, raising allegations long leveled by President Donald Trump and his base.
The agent, Hugh Evans of the FBI Atlanta Field Office, said in the affidavits that physical ballots were needed to determine whether the irregularities were administrative errors or intentional.
Evans said the FBI investigation originated from a referral the bureau received from Kurt Olsen, who is described as a Trump-appointed director of election security and integrity.
The affidavits come after the FBI executed court-authorized search warrants at the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center in January and explain the probable cause used to justify the warrants.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

  • House hearing raises red flags over former tech mogul's ‘CCP network’ allegedly funding far-left groups
    This is performative politics again.

During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing Tuesday, former U.S. tech mogul Neville Roy Singham was regularly named in the discussion and debate as to how foreign adversaries help fund U.S. agitator groups through what one witness described as "foreign dark money."
Singham, a U.S. citizen who sold his IT consulting company for $785 million before moving to Shanghai, was accused by multiple members of Congress as the man behind the "Singham [Chinese Communist Party] network," a phrase coined by committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo., during his opening remarks at the hearing.
"It's no wonder that the People's Forum echoes Communist Party propaganda," Smith said. "One of their largest donors is a wealthy former U.S. tech executive living in Shanghai who is cozy, extremely cozy with the Chinese Communist Party.
"Neville Roy Singham and his wife, a co-founder of CodePink, donated over $20 million to the People's Forum through shell companies and donor advised funds to hide the original source of the money."
In April, Smith sent a letter with GOP committee members to then-IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel requesting information about "specific tax-exempt organizations that promote CCP propaganda and related initiatives," including the People’s Forum.
The People’s Forum has been one of the loudest voices encouraging and facilitating agitators to take to the streets for anti-ICE demonstrations, and Fox News Digital learned that Smith also sent letters to BreakThrough BT Media Inc. and Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research ahead of Tuesday’s hearing requesting information about alleged ties to Singham.
FAR-LEFT NONPROFITS IN THE HOT SEAT AS LAWMAKER EXPOSES THEM FOR 'SOWING CHAOS' IN US
The groups also have reported ties to the pro-Nicolás Maduro demonstrations, which took place after the Trump administration’s arrest of the Venezuelan dictator last month.
Singham, who shares office space in Shanghai with Maku Group, a Chinese media company associated with pro-CCP propaganda Singham has helped fund, was at the center of an often-referenced New York Times expose published in 2023.
The report was mentioned several times during the hearing, with witnesses and members of Congress pointing to the detailed description of how Singham uses his dark money network in an attempt to erase traces of Chinese communist influence.

  • DOJ moves to wipe Steve Bannon contempt conviction tied to Jan. 6 probe
Equal justice apparently isn't equal anymore.

The Department of Justice moved Monday to toss out Steve Bannon’s contempt of Congress conviction, a rare request that served to undo yet another element of the Biden-era investigations and prosecutions related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro made the request to dismiss Bannon's case in the district court in Washington, D.C. The dismissal would scrap Bannon's conviction, despite the former Trump adviser and War Room podcast host already completing his prison sentence.
Bannon was convicted by a jury in 2022 of two counts of contempt of Congress and served four months in prison for refusing to comply with a subpoena issued to him by the Jan. 6 select committee, a Democrat-led House panel tasked with investigating the events leading up to the 2021 Capitol attack.
STEVE BANNON PLEADS GUILTY TO SCHEME TO DEFRAUD IN BORDER WALL FUNDRAISER
Bannon had fought the subpoena, arguing to the committee that it violated executive privilege because it sought details about his interactions with President Donald Trump ahead of the Jan. 6 rally and breach. In court, Bannon also argued that the committee, which was led by seven Democrats and two Republicans, was improperly impaneled.
Pirro gave little explanation for the DOJ's move, which would erase Bannon’s conviction despite the sentence already being served.
"The government has determined in its prosecutorial discretion that dismissal of this criminal case is in the interests of justice," Pirro wrote in the brief request.
DOJ OUTLINES 10 ‘WINS’ UNDER TRUMP, SAYS AGENCY RESTORED AFTER BIDEN ERA
Bannon, for his part, has continued to challenge the conviction and has a petition pending before the Supreme Court. Parallel to Pirro’s dismissal request, Solicitor General John Sauer asked the high court on Tuesday to grant Bannon’s petition.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement that Bannon’s conviction arose from the "J6 ‘Unselect’ Committee’s improper subpoena" and attributed the dismissal to the DOJ's efforts to course correct what it perceived to be an abuse of power during the Biden administration.
"Under the leadership of Attorney General Bondi, this Department will continue to undo the prior administration’s weaponization of the justice system," Blanche said.
The DOJ did not make a similar request for Peter Navarro, a trade adviser to Trump, who also faced Jan.6-related contempt charges and served four months in prison. Navarro shared a statement on social media saying he wanted to continue fighting his conviction in court and "settle good law" on the matter.
