Demur US exists as a place for frustration, dissent, critique, satire, and open expression about the U.S. political system. We support strong opinions and uncomfortable conversations — but not abuse, threats, or chaos.
This policy explains what’s allowed, what’s not, and how moderation works.
Our Philosophy

We support free expression, including anger, sarcasm, criticism, and harsh opinions.

We do require legality, safety, and basic respect for human dignity.

Disagreement is welcome. Harassment and threats are not.
What’s Allowed
You are welcome to post content that is:

Critical, angry, sarcastic, or cynical

Politically charged or opinionated

Satirical or provocative

Expressive of frustration or disdain toward institutions, policies, or public figures

Unpopular or controversial (as long as it’s lawful)
You do not have to be “nice.” You do have to follow the rules below.

The following content may be removed, and accounts may be restricted or banned:

Spam, flooding, or repetitive posting

Impersonation of others

Coordinated manipulation or brigading

Bots or automated posting
🚫 Platform Abuse

Attempts to bypass moderation

Evading bans or suspensions

Posting malicious links or malware
Public Figures vs Private Individuals

Public figures (politicians, officials, institutions) are subject to much broader criticism.

Private individuals are protected from targeted harassment, threats, or exposure of personal information.

Moderation Process
Moderation is human-led, not algorithmic.
We may:

Remove content that violates this policy

Lock or delete comment threads

Issue warnings

Temporarily suspend accounts

Permanently ban repeat or severe offenders
Moderation decisions are final.
We are not obligated to explain or justify every moderation action.

No Guaranteed Platform
Posting on Demur US is a privilege, not a right.
