  • Would Attacking Greenland be an illegal action?
    Every delay has consequences.

Would attacking Greenland be an llegal action? Would it be a legitimate reason for the US Military to not Attack Greenland on order from President Donald Trump? Could the Senate stop the President from Attacking? Mark Kelly and other Senators said US Military does not have to follow illegal orders. Is this an illegal order?

  • How can JD Vance seriously discuss arresting and holding sex offenders accountable while Trump is POTUS?
    Every delay has consequences.

The Trump-Vance administration has made "holding sexual predators accountable" a cornerstone of their 2025-2026 agenda. Between the "Protecting our Communities from Sexual Predators Act"—which focuses on the deportation of non-citizen offenders—and the recently signed TAKE IT DOWN Act, the rhetoric is stronger than ever.
However, there is a glaring elephant in the room. JD Vance is currently out on the trail (most recently in Minneapolis) touting "law and order" and the removal of "sexual deviants" from the streets. At the same time, Donald Trump remains a man found liable in a court of law for the sexual abuse of E. Jean Carroll.
How does a Press Secretary or a VP seriously argue that they are the "party of protection" when their own leader’s legal history would, under their own proposed standards, categorize him as the very threat they claim to be hunting? Is this just the ultimate form of political compartmentalization, or is the "predator" label being redefined to only apply to political enemies and undocumented immigrants?

  • What are the short- and long-term political implications for the US after the capture of Maduro?
Equal justice apparently isn't equal anymore.

As we all know, earlier this month, US forces captured Maduro during a military operation in Caracas and transferred him to the United States to face federal charges. The operation has raised questions about international law, executive authority, and precedent.
How might this affect US domestic politics (executive power, congressional oversight etc) and relations with allies in Latin America, Europe, and at the UN?
And what about historical comparisons? (e.g., Panama 1989 or other cases involving the capture of foreign leaders).

  • Can ICE Enter a Home To Make an Arrest With Only an Administrative Warrant?
This looks less like justice and more like strategy.

Post by well known 4th amendment scholar Orin Kerr about ICE's new position that they can enter a home to make an arrest under only an administrative warrant. TL;DR:
It's always hard to offer a take on a legal argument when you have to speculate about what the legal argument is, so my take on this is tentative. But if I had to summarize my current thinking, it seems to me that the DHS policy is likely wrong in light of Coolidge, Shadwick, and Payton, although the DHS position is not frivolous in light of Abel as interpreted in Malagerio—and the trickier issue may be actually getting a merits ruling on the issue in court in light of the absence of remedies due to the Supreme Court's gradual cutting back on Bivens remedies.

  • What limits do U.S. political institutions place on territorial expansion or coercive diplomacy today?
    Who's accountable for the results?

The United States has a long history of territorial expansion, but modern foreign policy operates under a different set of legal, political, and institutional constraints. Congress, international law, alliance commitments such as NATO, and domestic public opinion all shape what actions are politically feasible for U.S. leaders. How do these constraints function in practice today compared to earlier periods of U.S. expansion? Which institutions or norms tend to play the most significant role in limiting or enabling coercive diplomatic or territorial actions by the U.S. government?

  • Are modern protests shifting from policy demands to challenges against institutions themselves?
    How is this acceptable?

It feels like protests today aren’t just about changing laws or leaders.
More often, they seem to challenge the legitimacy of institutions themselves, not just “fix this policy,” but “why should we trust this system at all?”
Is this a real shift in political culture, or is it just what happens when polarization reaches a certain point?
    Curious how others see it.

  • What will the Liberals do in a post-Trump world?
    Every delay has consequences.

How far will the pendulum swing back to the left?
Will policies be immediately undone and pushed as far left as possible?
    What happens to:
    - Tariffs and public taxation
    - Borders and immigration
    - Greenland and Canada rhetoric
    - Venezuela - Gender ideology - Abortion
    - Social services spending
    - Fraud investigations
    - Political weaponization and retribution ie Trump family and business associates; government support for Elons endeavours
    - Epstein files - Ukraine - Israel - China
    - NATO and all of Europe
Will the Left use Trump as a springboard to go further left than any other administration in history?

  • Regarding the political spectrum, what exactly is the point that differs center-left from left, and left, from far-left, and vice versa for the right wing side of the spectrum?
    This isn't complicated—it's willpower.

Just read something that mentioned social democracy being a center-left ideology, and communism being a far left ideology, and I’m sitting here wondering what exactly would be considered just a ‘left’ ideology. And I’m wondering what exactly is the point that differs an ideology being center-left vs left vs far-left.
I’ve always heard socialism lumped in with communism as far left, and democratic socialism lumped in with social democracy as they are basically the same, just with different end goals. So what makes something ‘left’?

  • Ninth Circuit: GMAIL is not a common carrier - RNC v. Google
Equal justice apparently isn't equal anymore.

Here are some link references to the Ninth Circuit ruling this week.

I'm sure the Republican party is going to appeal this to the Supreme Court. Republicans know Justice Thomas has a really weird stance that websites should be considered common carriers. When that logic makes no sense at all.
