  • Trump Accounts touted as antidote to ‘anti-capitalist’ ideology, financial illiteracy gripping US: regulator
This feels like a quiet policy shift.

FIRST ON FOX: "Trump Accounts" will work as a nationwide financial literacy starter kit that simultaneously serves as an antidote to rising anti-capitalist sentiment, according to the head of the Treasury bureau that regulates and supervises national banks.
"Trump Accounts will be one of the most impactful financial literacy tools in our country’s history," Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould said Friday before the Financial Literacy and Education Commission. "They present a unique chance for all Americans to own a stake in the most powerful economy on earth, watch their money grow, and begin their investing journey."
Trump Accounts were created under the "big, beautiful bill" signed July 4, 2025, and are structured as tax-deferred investment accounts for children. Eligible children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, who are U.S. citizens with valid Social Security numbers, receive a $1,000 federal seed contribution, while families and employers can also contribute under set limits.
In addition to the accounts helping bolster children's ability to secure the "American Dream," as the administration has celebrated, Gould said the accounts would bolster financial literacy and push back on what he described as an anti-capitalist ideology.
TREASURY SECRETARY PREDICTS BLOCKBUSTER 2026 FOR US ECONOMY AS DOW HITS HISTORIC MILESTONE
Fox News Digital obtained Gould's full remarks at the Financial Literacy and Education Commission meeting that focused on the implementation, consumer education and outreach efforts for Trump Accounts. The commission is a body within the Treasury Department established in 2003 to improve the financial literacy of citizens.
Gould took aim at "collectivist policies," such as socialism, arguing financial literacy requires "a foundational understanding of free-market principles" and casting Trump Accounts as a response to what he called growing anti-capitalist ideology.
Trump Accounts "present a unique chance for all Americans to own a stake in the most powerful economy on earth, watch their money grow, and begin their investing journey," Gould said. "Trump Accounts offer an opportunity for America’s children to experience the best of our free markets and to own a piece of the American Dream. And they are a direct rebuttal to the philosophical and economic dead-ends of collectivist policies."

  • Hochul primary challenger Antonio Delgado ends campaign for New York governor
    Why resist verification?

New York Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado announced Tuesday he is ending his campaign for governor of New York, saying he "concluded that there simply is no viable path forward."
The withdrawal comes just days after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorsed Delgado’s boss, Gov. Kathy Hochul, as she runs for re-election. Delgado would have challenged Hochul in the Democratic primary this year.
"I’ve decided to end my campaign for Governor of New York. After much consideration, I’ve concluded that there simply is no viable path forward," Delgado said in a statement on Tuesday.
"And though my campaign has come to an end, I fully intend to do all I can in our effort to build a more humane, affordable, and equitable state that serves all New Yorkers. I will also support Democrats in our effort to hold the line against Trump and take back our democracy," he added.
MAMDANI BACKS HOCHUL IN MOVE THAT COULD RESHAPE NEW YORK GOVERNOR RACE
"I do not make this decision lightly, particularly given that so many have poured their belief into our campaign and are desperate to be given a voice," Delgado also said, adding, "Ultimately, this decision for me comes down to my belief that to walk with purpose, is to walk with love."
Following Delgado's announcement, Hochul campaign communications director Sarafina Chitika told Fox News Digital, "Governor Hochul has spent all year uniting her big-tent party around a vision for affordability and safety for every New York family."
"Thanks to her leadership, our campaign and our party are strong and ready to defeat Donald Trump and his enablers up and down the ballot, take back the House, and hand Bruce Blakeman yet another loss this November," Chitika added. "Donald Trump and Bruce Blakeman are united in their efforts to raise costs on working families, send masked ICE agents into our streets to terrorize innocent communities, and wage war on New York kids. Our party is now just as united to stop them."
HOCHUL RUNNING MATE VOTED TO ALLOW NONCITIZEN VOTING IN NYC ELECTIONS
Last week, Delgado named former Buffalo mayoral candidate India Walton, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, as his running mate in an effort to beef up his support among progressives.
Delgado launched his bid for governor in June, a rare instance of a lieutenant governor taking on a sitting governor.
Hochul had backed Mamdani last September as the Democratic Party's mayoral nominee battled former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa in the general election mayoral showdown.

  • House passes measure to mint collectible $2.50 coin for America 250
    Same show, different day.

The House unanimously passed a bill Monday authorizing a special collectible coin to be minted in honor of the United States’s 250th anniversary of independence.

The bill, spearheaded by Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-AL), is headed to President Donald Trump’s desk for final approval. It would require the Treasury Department to mint a $2.50 coin by July 4, and feature the historic design originally issued for America’s 150th anniversary in 1926, updated to reflect the new milestone, according to Aderholt’s office. It is designed to ensure the public has a tangible way to take part in the milestone, the congressman said.

“This coin is about more than a piece of metal; it’s about celebration, pride, and patriotism,” the Alabama lawmaker said.

“I still remember America’s 200th birthday in 1976 when I was 10 years old, and the incredible excitement and national unity that came with it,” Aderholt continued in a statement. “That Bicentennial celebration was something special, and I hope this coin helps spur that same kind of celebration and patriotism across our country as we approach America’s 250th anniversary. Americans from all walks of life should be able to carry a small reminder of our nation’s greatness with them every day, celebrating our country jingling right there in their pockets.”

The bill also calls for a study on whether the coin could be used for everyday circulation.

The House also passed a measure to create a congressional time capsule on Monday. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman’s (D-NJ) bill has already passed the Senate and is now heading to the president’s desk to be signed into law. It would authorize the Architect of the Capitol to bury a time capsule commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, to be opened on the country’s 500th anniversary in 2276.

The legislative efforts are among a myriad of measures being planned to celebrate the country’s semiquincentennial. President Donald Trump is leading efforts to celebrate the anniversary through historic sports events, including a UFC fight on the White House lawn and an IndyCar race in Washington, D.C.

  • National Governors Association cancels annual meeting after Trump snubs Democrats
    What's the administration thinking here?

The bipartisan National Governors Association has canceled its annual meeting with President Donald Trump later this month after the White House excluded Democratic governors from the invitation list.

Gov. Kevin Stitt (R-OK), the chairman of the association, said the White House intended to invite only Republican governors in a break from tradition.

“Because NGA’s mission is to represent all 55 governors, the Association is no longer serving as the facilitator for that event, and it is no longer included in our official program,” Stitt wrote in a Monday letter to fellow governors as reported by the Associated Press.

“We cannot allow one divisive action to achieve its goal of dividing us,” he continued. “The solution is not to respond in kind, but to rise above and to remain focused on our shared duty to the people we serve. America’s governors have always been models of pragmatic leadership, and that example is most important when Washington grows distracted by politics.”

The Washington Examiner contacted the White House for comment in response to the letter.

In its own statement on the news, the Democratic Governors Association blamed Trump for “creating chaos and division” and announced its members would not attend the event this year.

“If the reports are true that not all governors are invited to these events, which have historically been productive and bipartisan opportunities for collaboration, we will not be attending the White House dinner this year,” the joint statement reads. “Democratic governors remain united and will never stop fighting to protect and make life better for people in our states.”

Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD), who serves as NGA vice chairman alongside Stitt, previously complained about being disinvited from the annual NGA dinner in Washington, D.C. Moore suggested he may have been snubbed because of his race.

“As the nation’s only Black governor, I can’t ignore that being singled out for exclusion from this bipartisan tradition carries an added weight — whether that was the intent or not,” he wrote on X over the weekend.

Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) was also specifically excluded from the dinner, according to news reports. The Colorado Democrat’s office called the decision “disappointing.”

“Gov. Polis has always been willing to work with anyone across the political spectrum who wants to help work on the hardest problems facing Colorado and America, regardless of party or who occupies the White House,” a Polis spokesperson said. …

  • Vance: US should get 'some benefit' from Greenland if it's going to be 'on the hook' for protecting territory
    Is this competence or optics?

Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday that the United States should get "some benefit" from Greenland if it’s going to "be on the hook for protecting this massive landmass."
Vance told reporters in Armenia that, "it's very early in the Greenland talks," amid the Trump administration's push to acquire the Danish territory.
"We've been working quite a bit on this over the last few weeks, but it's just very simple. Greenland is very important to the national security of the United States of America," Vance added.
"I do think that some of our allies have under-invested in Arctic security, and if we're going to invest in Arctic security, if we're basically going to pay a lot of money and be on the hook for protecting this massive landmass, I think it's only reasonable for the United States to get some benefit out of that, and that's going to be the focus of the negotiations here over the next few months," Vance said.
RUSSIA, CHINA SQUEEZE US ARCTIC DEFENSE ZONE AS TRUMP EYES GREENLAND
President Donald Trump said in mid-January that the U.S. needs Greenland "for the purpose of national security."
"It is vital for the Golden Dome that we are building. NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. IF WE DON’T, RUSSIA OR CHINA WILL, AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!" Trump said at the time.
A week later, Trump said, "Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region."
NATO CHIEF WARNS EUROPE CAN’T DEFEND ITSELF WITHOUT US AS TENSIONS RISE OVER GREENLAND
"This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations," the president said on Truth Social.
However, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen then insisted that Denmark would not negotiate on its sovereignty despite Trump announcing the "framework" of a deal.
"Security in the Arctic is a matter for the entire NATO alliance. Therefore, it is good and natural that it is also discussed between NATO's Secretary General and the President of the United States. The Kingdom of Denmark has long worked for NATO to increase its engagement in the Arctic," Frederiksen noted in a statement, which was written in Danish.

  • China panics after Takaichi declares intention to remilitarize Japan
This looks less like justice and more like strategy.

The comprehensive electoral victory of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi over the weekend secured the Liberal Democratic Party a two-thirds majority in the Japanese Diet, a broad and inarguable mandate for her proposed nationalist revival.

Following her victory, Takaichi was not coy about her policy ambitions — stating firmly on Monday that her goal is to rewrite the Japanese constitution to remilitarize the islands.

“We will work toward constitutional revision while looking ahead to the nation’s future,” the prime minister said. “I am determined to create an environment where a national referendum on constitutional amendment can take place as soon as possible.”

The Chinese Communist Party, already frustrated by Takaichi’s refusals to kowtow on Taiwanese sovereignty, is openly alarmed by the prospect of the Japanese right-wing finally fulfilling a decadeslong campaign to break out of their pacifist handcuffs.

“Various signs indicate that Japan’s right-wing forces are deliberately attempting to challenge the post-war international order from multiple aspects, including military, public opinion and law,” Senior Col. Jiang Bin, spokesman for China’s Ministry of National Defense, said on Tuesday.

He added: “The international community should remain highly vigilant and resolutely take measures to curb this situation, and join hands to safeguard the fruits of victory of World War II and regional peace and stability.”

Takaichi’s cemented position is a major concern for China, which has been outraged with the prime minister for months after she acknowledged a hypothetical invasion of Taiwan as a national security threat that could warrant a military response from Tokyo.

Members of the Beijing elite called Takaichi an “evil witch” and a diplomat stationed in Japan even threatened to “cut off” her “filthy head” following her comments. That ire only grew as Takaichi repeatedly refused to walk back her position.

Takaichi offered an olive branch to the CCP on Monday — suggesting she is open to a mutually respectful dialogue — but Beijing balked.

“No one would accept dialogue when one side talks about dialogue while engaging in confrontation with the other,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian …

(Kim Kyung-Hoon/Pool Photo via AP, File) The Chinese Communist Party, already frustrated by Takaichi’s refusals to kowtow on Taiwanese sovereignty, is openly alarmed by the prospect of the Japanese right-wing finally fulfilling a decadeslong campaign to break out of their pacifist handcuffs. “Various signs indicate that Japan’s right-wing forces are deliberately attempting to challenge the post-war international order from multiple aspects, including military, public opinion and law,” Senior Col. Jiang Bin, spokesman for China’s Ministry of National Defense, said on Tuesday. He added: “The international community should remain highly vigilant and resolutely take measures to curb this situation, and join hands to safeguard the fruits of victory of World War II and regional peace and stability.” Takaichi’s cemented position is a major concern for China, which has been outraged with the prime minister for months after she acknowledged a hypothetical invasion of Taiwan as a national security threat that could warrant a military response from Tokyo.

  • ICE acting director says Minnesota bodycam footage will be released amid transparency push
    This affects the entire country.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Todd Lyons told lawmakers Tuesday that body camera footage from ICE operations in Minnesota will be released, while acknowledging that about 3,000 of roughly 13,000 ICE agents currently wear body cameras.
Lyons made the remarks during a House Homeland Security Committee hearing, as lawmakers pressed the agency following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti last month. The hearing grew contentious as ICE officials acknowledged the limited use of body cameras and lawmakers clashed over enforcement tactics.
In the case of Good, footage of the fatal encounter recorded included video from a federal agent’s personal phone and was later circulated publicly, along with witness footage. The Pretti incident was captured by bystander video. Lyons did not specify whether body-camera footage exists from either of the fatal incidents.
BORDER CZAR TOM HOMAN CALLS ANTI-ICE ROADBLOCKS IN MINNEAPOLIS A 'JOKE' AFTER POLICE CHIEF DISBANDS THEM
"Body cameras have been deployed in Minnesota. I think transparency helps regain public trust. Is there any plan to release any of the footage to the public?" Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, asked Lyons.
"100%, sir. That’s one thing that I’m committed to — full transparency. And I fully welcome body cameras all across the spectrum in all of our law enforcement activities," Lyons said. "Body camera footage will be released."
Gonzales welcomed the response, saying he agreed "completely."
ALEX PRETTI SHOULD HAVE FACED CHARGES FOR SPITTING ON AGENT BEFORE FATAL SHOOTING: FORMER PROSECUTOR
"Everyone assumes body camera footage is bad footage, but in so many cases it’s the exact opposite," Gonzales said. "We get to see from the officer’s lens what they’re dealing with on a daily basis, not just a 15-second clip we see on TikTok or whatever it may be."
Minnesota has become a flash point for resistance to immigration enforcement, with agitators clashing with federal agents and attempting to impede ICE operations during recent actions.
During the hearing, Lyons said that more than 3,000 ICE officers currently have body cameras active in the field, with another 6,000 being deployed, confirming that the majority of ICE agents remain unequipped.
Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott told lawmakers that about 10,000 of the agency’s roughly 20,000 Border Patrol agents have body cameras, though Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., expressed skepticism and asked Scott to provide a more precise figure to the committee.

  • The Epstein files are creating headaches for the Sununus and Shaheens in New Hampshire
Are they actually going to vote on something real?

A New Hampshire magnate with ties to power players in both parties has appeared in successive batches of the Epstein files, roiling politics in his home state and threatening its two most influential political dynasties.

Documents recently released by the Department of Justice suggest that entrepreneur Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway and other devices, kept in contact with Jeffrey Epstein long after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008, with emails indicating he visited the disgraced financier’s Caribbean island in 2013. Kamen has not been accused of wrongdoing and did not respond to requests for comment through his companies Monday.

The recently released files indicate a closer relationship between the two than was previously known. The disclosures have prompted Kamen’s organizations to launch investigations into their ties. And the situation has ratcheted up scrutiny of the New Hampshire politicians who have worked with him, received campaign contributions from him or helped his organizations secure tens of millions in federal funds.

That includes members of the Shaheen and Sununu families, the best-known and most powerful clans in the state’s Democratic and Republican parties. Both have scions running for Congress this year: House candidate Stefany Shaheen, the daughter of retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), and former Sen. John E. Sununu (R-N.H.), the son of a former governor, who is seeking to return to the Senate.

They now face Epstein-fueled attacks from their lower-polling rivals.

“Anywhere Epstein pops up these days, it’ll become a campaign issue,” said Ryan Williams, a GOP strategist who has worked with Sununu and his father. “And there are certainly politicians who have worked with Kamen in New Hampshire, taken his money and associated with him. And those who did will have to answer for it.”

Kamen is a New Hampshire institution and local celebrity — often described as a quirky one — in a state that has few big-name figures but exerts a powerful hold on the presidential nominating process. The pioneering inventor and entrepreneur who developed the first portable insulin pump and a wheelchair that can climb stairs, Kamen is also widely credited for driving the transformation of Manchester’s old mill district into a technological and health care hub. He was lauded as a “hero” for helping secure 91,000 pounds of protective equipment for first responders and health care workers at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic when such resources were scarce.

Kamen has donated roughly $90,000 to federal candidates and campaign committees on both sides of the aisle over the past four decades, according to federal campaign finance filings. That includes over $7,000 apiece to Sununu, Sen. Shaheen and Kelly …

  • Patel releases doorbell camera footage of possible suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance
We're watching the same failure loop.

FBI Director Kash Patel released images Tuesday of a possible suspect in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother.

The images were clipped from a video that was recovered from a doorbell camera and show someone wearing a ski mask and carrying a backpack.

“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors – including the removal of recording devices,” Patel said in an X post. “The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems.”

The series of photos shows the person’s hands wearing what appear to be leather gloves covering the camera. Patel said the person appeared to be armed and tampering with the doorbell camera.

Patel replied to the X thread and attached two videos that show the potential suspect grabbing branches from a nearby bush and placing them over the doorbell camera.

The photo release marks the latest development in the now 10-day search for the 84-year-old woman who authorities believe was taken from her home in the Tucson, Arizona area.

Law enforcement officials believe Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will after investigators found her front doorbell camera disconnected and drops of her blood on the porch. A ransom note demanded $6 million in Bitcoin for the safe return of Nancy Guthrie by Monday evening. Savannah Guthrie had previously stated her family was willing to pay the ransom, and she has issued pleas on social media to the alleged kidnappers asking for her mothers safe return.
