What's the endgame here?
(Bill Glahn) As expected, the “shutdown” was a topic of discussion on the Sunday morning talk shows. I never watch them myself, but The Hill newspaper is forced to,
Schumer on Dems’ DHS demands: ‘These are common sense.’
The Hill reports,
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Sunday that Democrats’ demands for reforming the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “are common sense,” just one day after funding for the department ran out.
“We need masks off, we need cameras on and we need every police — every [Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)] officer, to be identified,” Schumer told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”
I didn’t see anything about judicial warraats in that list abovre, the Democrats No. 1 demand. As for the cameras, they are already in place. But unmasking and public identification only invites attacks against federal agents and their families.
The shutdown is expected to last until next week, at a minimum.
