Could a bipartisan transparency-focused ticket (Khanna/Massie) actually work in 2028?
If this were reversed, would people excuse it?

I’ve been thinking about something that feels like one of the only truly cross-partisan issues right now: frustration with how powerful people seem to operate under a different set of rules.
The whole Jeffrey Epstein situation — the plea deal years ago, the unanswered questions, the limited transparency around related records — left a lot of people across the spectrum feeling like we never really got clarity. Whether you’re on the left or the right, there’s a pretty strong undercurrent of “why does it feel like elites never fully face accountability?”
It made me wonder.. could a 2028 ticket built around government transparency and institutional accountability actually have legs?
If a campaign focused on: - Transparency in high-profile federal investigations - Reforming how plea deals are handled in cases involving powerful defendants - Stronger oversight of federal agencies - Clear disclosure standards when there isn’t a legit national security reason to seal things
…would that actually resonate with voters? Or is “elite accountability” more of an online issue than a real electoral one?
I’m genuinely curious whether something like that could build a coalition across libertarian and progressive voters, or if polarization just makes it impossible in practice.
Interested in thoughtful takes — not looking to push a conspiracy angle, more wondering about the viability of a transparency-first campaign theme in 2028.
