Loudest critics of Trump’s Iran war don’t reflect polling of MAGA support
Am I the only one tired of this?
The loudest MAGA critics of President Donald Trump’s war against Iran may not represent the movement’s voters, with multiple polls showing overwhelming support among Trump’s base for the war.
If the likes of Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and even Blackwater founder Erik Prince are to be believed, Trump’s MAGA base is riled up over the president’s decision to strike Iran and its proxies around the world as part of Operation Epic Fury.
“Pray that the spell breaks and the world is saved,” Carlson wrote on X on the weekend after calling the strikes “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

Public opinion is divided on Trump’s war, but most polls underscore that Republicans, even those who consider themselves to be MAGA, support the Iran war, despite many voting for him because of his “America First,” anti-interventionist foreign policies.
A survey conducted this week by The Economist and YouGov found 91% of respondents who describe themselves as “MAGA supporters” approve of Trump’s war.

A Vandenberg Coalition and TargetPoint poll found more than 9 in 10 “MAGA or Trump conservatives” backing the conflict, while an NBC News survey reported 90% approval among MAGA-aligned Republicans. In the NBC survey, just 5% of Republicans said they thought Trump should not have launched Operation Epic Fury.

Seven U.S. service members have been killed and 140 injured so far, and gas prices have risen roughly 64 cents over the past month as oil markets react to the fighting.
Markets, meanwhile, have been volatile in light of the war. Gas prices have risen nearly 64 cents over the last month, while crude oil prices have fluctuated. Oil peaked at $120 over the weekend but has been trending downward since Trump told CBS News that the operation is nearly “very complete.”
Suffolk University Political Research Center director David Paleologos told the Washington Examiner that the view on Trump’s war, even among die-hard supporters, would likely change if the economic and human costs rose higher.
“We’ll be watching Republican women who historically [have been] first to break with the GOP on issues like healthcare and the [Jeffrey] Epstein files,” Paleologos said. “Longer term, some of the core MAGA voters …
