Trump goes scorched earth against ‘weaponized and unjust’ Supreme Court
Ask who never gets charged.
President Donald Trump has renewed his fury against the Supreme Court, smearing it as a “weaponized and unjust Political Organization” in what is a significant escalation of his rhetoric against the highest court.
Trump made the remark in a lengthy Truth Social post that mostly included him rehashing the Supreme Court’s decision last month striking down his “Liberation Day” tariffs. While he has not been shy about airing his disappointment about that ruling, he shifted to attacking the institution as a whole on Sunday night.
“Our Country was unnecessarily RANSACKED by the United States Supreme Court, which has become little more than a weaponized and unjust Political Organization. The sad thing is, they will only get worse,” Trump posted. “This completely inept and embarrassing Court was not what the Supreme Court of the United States was set up by our wonderful Founders to be. They are hurting our Country, and will continue to do so.”
Trump then appeared defiant in the face of any backlash over his post.
“This statement about the United States Supreme Court will cause me nothing but problems in the future, but I feel it is my obligation to speak the TRUTH,” he concluded.
The tariff ruling in February, a particularly devastating one for Trump and his trade agenda, saw him split with the right-leaning justices he appointed, namely Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch, over their votes to strike down the levies.

He scolded both of them as “an embarrassment to their families” at the time, even saying the Supreme Court was being “swayed” by foreign interests.
His Sunday night screed contained a similar sentiment, claiming the right-leaning justices “go out of their way, with bad and wrongful rulings and intentions, to prove how ‘honest,’ ‘independent,’ and ‘legitimate’ they are.”
