  • Alexei Navalny’s widow demands ‘accountability’ for Putin after European leaders say husband was poisoned
    This is performative politics again.

Five European governments on Saturday announced their investigation determined Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned, contradicting Moscow’s claims he died of natural causes.

The United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany, and the Netherlands said they “are confident” Navalny was poisoned by epibatidine, a toxin found in poison dart frogs in South America. Officials said in a joint statement that they came to the conclusion based on analyses of samples from Navalny, who died in February 2024 while imprisoned at an Arctic penal colony in Russia.

The development appears to confirm accusations from Navalny’s widow and others that he was murdered by Russian authorities seeking to eliminate a threat to President Vladimir Putin. In a speech reacting to her husband’s death during the Munich Security Conference two years ago, when his death was announced, Yulia Navalny called for Putin “to be punished.”

This week, Yulia Navalny was again attending the Munich conference when the news broke that European leaders formally attributed her husband’s death to poison, a conclusion she said last fall was determined by two lab analyses. U.K. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper met with the widow on the sidelines of the German conference on Saturday, saying that “only the Russian government had the means, motive and opportunity to deploy this lethal toxin against Alexei Navalny during his imprisonment in Russia.”

“Today, beside his widow, the U.K. is shining a light on the Kremlin’s barbaric plot to silence his voice. Russia saw Navalny as a threat. By using this form of poison the Russian state demonstrated the despicable tools it has at its disposal and the overwhelming fear it has of political opposition,” Cooper said.

Yulia Navalny said in a statement to X that she “was certain from the first day that my husband had been poisoned.”

“Now there is proof: Putin killed Alexei with chemical weapon,” she said. “I am grateful to the European states for the meticulous work they carried out over two years and for uncovering the truth. Vladimir Putin is a murderer. He must be held accountable for all his …

This is why trust is collapsing.

How is it possible to agree with a democrat so often?
“Please don’t do the weird protests” during Trump’s State of the Union this month!
“It made us LOOK LIKE CHILDREN!”
    “Have some DIGNITY!”
“Don’t put up those silly paddles and weird protests.”

  • Trump says dinner with Bill Maher was a ‘waste of time’
    Transparency shouldn't be controversial.

President Donald Trump ripped comedian and late-night host Bill Maher on Saturday, saying Maher was a “jerk” who had “zero confidence” during their White House dinner almost a year ago.

Trump took to Truth Social to express his outrage at the comedian in a nearly 500-word post, following Maher’s referencing the dinner in a recent interview that aired on CNN International.

“Sometimes in life you waste time,” Trump said. “He was extremely nervous, had ZERO confidence in himself and, to soothe his nerves, immediately, within seconds, asked for a ‘Vodka Tonic.’”

TRUMP VOWS TO PRESENT ‘IRREFUTABLE’ LEGAL ARGUMENT TO REQUIRE VOTER ID WITHOUT CONGRESS

The dinner was set up between Trump and Maher through a mutual friend when Maher inquired about meeting with the president, according to Trump. The president added that during the meeting, Maher admitted that he was “scared.”

Trump said they had a “great dinner,” and that Maher was very “respectful” about the president following their meeting until the comedian devolved into the “same old story.”

“Very boring [show], ANTI TRUMP, no mention of the PERFECT Border, Lowest Crime in 125 years, the Mass Removal of Stone Cold Criminals,” Trump said, as he went on to list various achievements from his administration. “In any event, it was a total waste of time for me to have this jerk at the White House.”

Trump also labeled Maher as a “highly overrated LIGHTWEIGHT.”

SALENA ZITO: MISSING THE STORY BETWEEN THE LINES

“Fortunately, his Television Ratings are so low that nobody will learn about his various Fake News statements about me,” Trump said. “He is no different than Kimmel, Fallon, or Colbert but, I must admit, slightly more talented!”

“Republicans should stop using him to show how the Left is coming over our way — Our Base, the Greatest of All Time, laughs at your weakness when you do it,” he added.

Following their April dinner, Maher said Trump was “gracious.”

“The guy I met is not the guy who the night before the dinner shit-Tweeted a bunch of nasty crap about how this dinner was a bad idea and what a deranged asshole I was,” Maher said. “Just for starters: He laughs. I’ve never seen him laugh in public. But he does, including at himself. He’s not fake.”

During his interview with CNN International, Maher said the people who stopped watching his show after his dinner with Trump were “idiots.”
